I'm really beginning to admire the designers at Mattel who adhere closely to the lines of the original cars they emulate. It makes matching body lines, at least on these particular VWs, so much more of a pleasant task. I am soooo close to getting the rooflines aligned, that I needed to stop, reflect, share, and throw out my shoulder patting myself on the back. This is version 6 in the making. "But, wait..." you say "When last we visited, were not you working on version 5?" you ask. "What happened to version 5?" Don't ask!, I retort. V5 gave it's zamac so that others may be chopped into pieces with more caution. Further, it may just find a 3rd life in some other abomination/custom I come up with... Anyway, this is end-of-work today...so close... V7 is going to be amazing!
How are your projects going? I'd like to see more WIP posts here, and I'll do what I can to keep you all amused. BTW, does anyone have extras of the tooned beetle casting? Like flea-market-bucket-o'-diecast quality loose ones? It's killing me to chop up otherwise "mint" examples, or even just decent ones. Thanks. Be well...
