As seen on OPPO: I'm hoping to start another batch of customs and am in the process of sourcing some wheels. Is there a place online that show wheel sizes, as well as styles?
One of the styles I seek is the new C5 (fake Fuchs) wheel from Hot Wheels:
So far, I've found it in 2 sizes in the colors I need, on the Hot Wagons series Nova wagon and stocked up when I could. The other wheel is from MBX and it's called the Ringed Disc, as seen on this Beetle:
It differs from the HWs version in that it does not have a 'cutout' for the valve stem. (?) It took some searching on the Wikis to find the name of the C5, but if I try to search for it by name, I get dozens of links to some car called a Corvette. Anyway, I want to find larger C5s and Ringed Discs but I'm unable to find any site that lists the wheel sizes and which cars they'd be found on.
HWs just released a Sponge Bob series that features the C5 on one of the cars in the size I want, but not the color.
That rear wheel size is perfect for the Dinky 356 I want to upgrade, but I'd prefer the chrome on black, not white on red.
The Silver Ringed Disc from MBX would be a second choice if I can't find the C5. Maybe this info isn't available, I don't know, but I'd be interested in knowing if Mattel has a sizing system that would help me locate the donor car(s) I'm going to want/need. Then I wouldn't have to look at all the HWs and/or MBX diecast pegs in the state if I knew I was looking for specific cars/trucks
Thanks
Hey John, this is the guy I use for 3D printed wheels:
http://pnwdiecastcustoms.bigcartel.com
The 8mm size wheels are the standard MBX/HW wheel, and the 9mm are slightly larger. Those might be your back wheels. Fuchs are avaiable, I just got a set of 8mm that went on a 914
Tires are available as well.
Here is a 240Z with 8mm fronts and 9mm rears
Good luck on yr. search!
