"That's what hurts. It's one of our V8s. Pursuit Special on methane. Very toey."

(tried to change categories, lost everything. whoops!)

"I AM THE NIGHTRIDER! I am the chosen one. The mighty hand of vengeance, sent down to strike the unroadworthy! I'm hotter than a rollin' dice. Step right up, chum, and watch the kid lay down a rubber road, right to FREEDOM!"

So speaks the "Terminal Psychotic" biker in the stolen police car at the start of 1979s Mad Max. His car of choice (or opportunity,)? A modified 1972 Holden HQ Monaro with trumpet exhaust, ducktail spoiler, and scoop-on-scoop hood. Supposedly, this is one of the Main Force Patrol's hottest pursuit cars, and it certainly looks the part.

So, naturally, as a fan of this ill-fated car, when I found out that Hot Wheels had a 1972 HQ Monaro casting, I immediately set about finding a loose one on Ebay, stripping it of paint, and sticking some 3d printed bits on it.

(Sorry for the low-quality pics. I'll try to do better in the future.)

I couldn't find appropriately scaled "wagon wheels" except for ones wrapped in off-road tires, so these chrome HW 8-spoke Real Riders will have to do.

I'm hoping to get it in a first coat of paint tonight, and will update everyone when I do.
