Hello Guys and Gals!
Welcome back, LiveandLetDiecast! Good to be back! I want to show you some pictures about one of my latest item I bought. Although i don't want to put it on IG yet, cause there are some sketchy things around there, I cannot hold myself back to share some pics about it, so you will be the first "lucky" person who will see these things.
I can't bear with myself. To be honest, this is the most expensive purchase for a long time. I switched to 1/43 scale a year ago (more on that in another post later), and the possibilities there made me starstruck. But back to the Ferrari!
I put some pictures here, with my other favourite model in this scale: the Ferrari F40 by Herpa. How do you like it?
I bought this Kyosho around 45$, but i think it is worth every penny. It's very detailed, and to be honest, very heavy! :D One of the heaviest bits I have. One drawback this model have: it doesn't roll! And it is not a gap issue: all the wheels are fixed to the base, there's no rod axle, nothing. This is a bit disappointing, this is the first modelcar i have which is unable to roll purposefully (so not by some wheelarch gap error, what is usual in 1/64 scale). Bummer.
The details of the engine bay is mesmerising. The wide variety of colours, textures, bits and bobs are jawdropping. Love the little cables here and there. There's only one thing which is a bit weird: the carbon is a bit to light, i think it should be a bit darker.
All the parts openable, although when they are closed, the gaps between the parts could be a bit bothering. Herpa's panelgaps are much tighter, but it is probably the reason they made it full plastic.
Because while the Kyosho is full metal, the Herpa is full plastic. So thin plastic, that I am frightened all the time that i will break the whole chassis in half with one wrong twitch of my pinkie. Quite fragile, but once I manage to open all of its parts, it is quite suprising that the detail on this one is not lightyears away from Kyoshos. I couldn't recall that the engine bay of it is not just a big black plack of plastic, but there are some details and overall quite an eventful area. The Herpa F40 has no reason to be ashamed next to its successor.
Hope you guys love it!
Cheers!
An opening 1/43 is rare enough!
Have you got any of the 1/43 Solidos yet? They’re making so cool cars
