Tomica Time, Land of the Rising Sun-day, is here once more. Today we take a look at Tomica 61-3, the Toyota Hilux 4WD. This casting entered the range in May 1981, remaining until January 1988, and is something that needs no introduction:

We all know about old Hilux trucks. Mechanically nearly indestructible, they quickly became legends and even their modern day counterparts enjoy their solid reputation. The Tomica version is a similar tough item, with a real heft to it, and containing ample fine line casting detail, accurate proportion, and eye catching tampos. The large wheel style is a nice touch adding realism, and the rollbar does likewise. Scale is claimed to be 1:62, likely accurate, and very close to the standard of small scale. From all angles, one can imagine this rough and tumble truck out exploring the trails:

Front and rear have ample detail, the grille guard and accurate tailgate font being nice touches:
