[REVIEW] Tomica Nissan Skyline H-T 2000 GT-R Racing

Land of the Rising Sun-day, Tomica Time, is here again. Today we take a look at Tomica 21-2, the Nissan Skyline H-T 2000 GT-R Racing. This casting entered the range in November 1975, remaining until July 1980, and is related to the prior Tomica review:

Yep, another Skyline. These cars were legends even in their own time, and I believe Tomica made models of every generation. This Skyline, the famed Hakosuka, was made by Tomica in seemingly dozens of variants including both stock and competition liveries. As expected, this casting features the crisp glazing, snappy door action, and snappy door action we all admire in vintage Tomica. Scale is claimed to be 1:62, likely accurate, and close to the standard of small scale. From all angles, one can imagine this racer zooming around a track:

Doors open to reveal a detailed interior and accurate steering wheel:

Front and rear have ample detail, with views of the clean tampos which have survived the decades in fine style adding interest:

The base is metal and painted - something seen on few Tomica models, and contains ample technical and identifying detail:

This model is lucky to live in its original box:

I'm more than happy to have this model in my collection - everyone loves a Skyline, and this variant is a fun contrast with the stock version. This racing model was also sold as a Pocket Cars, if one wants a copy, they aren't especially hard to find:

A few images of a similar 1:1 from thecoolector.com - apparently these were raced in period and some survive today:
