During this period when Hot Wheels released the Ultra Hots, this premium series gave us not only metal body and base, painted head and tail lights but also the good old moving parts.
I did notice that it’s been a while since these castings were ever released again so I did a bit of digging and thus is what I found out.
The ‘50s Chevy truck designed by Larry Wood comes with a rear-tilting truck bed that revealed a rear engine and painted drive shaft. This feature would make it difficult not to open the package. It first appeared in 2006 and was considered the hottest casting at that time. Its last appearance was in 2012 due to the tooling no longer usable.
