Hot Sixty 4th: A look at a Jeep’s rival part 2

The 2nd part presents a brief info of the origin of the Willys Jeep rival. In 1951, Toyota inspired by the US military vehicle known as the Jeep had developed a military-truck prototype known as the Toyota Jeep BJ as it was initially known. It stands for the company’s B-type 3.4-liter inline-six engine and J for the Jeep’s featured styling. The name was change to Land Cruiser after automaker Willys claimed ownership of the ‘Jeep’ name.

Here are my 2 other Johnny Lightning models in simple black and white combo. They were based on the famed 40-series Land Cruiser which was introduced in 1960. It also goes by the name FJ40 (F for the engine type, J for Jeep), and subsequent generations follow this naming convention.

These were packaged in blister pack and released in 2017 as hobby exclusive in version A (black) and version B (white). JL for their price at that time is reasonable compared to Tomytec and even Tarmac Works hobby64 with included features like rubber tires including spare, opening hood, metal chassis and great detail.

Here is a look at the 1:1 interior borrowed from silodrome.com.
