Hello dear LaLDers! It is almost the end of the year again, so I will close the 2024 with some lists. This one, however, will be more like a Bottom list than a Top list. Why is that so? Because not everything is happy, but I am sharing gladly my sad moments too, knowing that someone out there shares the same shame and disappointment I had. This Bottomlist will contain my Top Fumbles of the Year: modelcars I could've bought if I was faster, stronger, or wealthier in a certain situation. Or I just forgot to pay something. Or I was able to buy it, paid it, but it never arrived. With that said, start the list!
#1: Spark TVR Griffith
This one is one of the most painful fumble. I went to my first toycar market in Belgium, and found a guy who sold a lot of these higher end modelcars around 40-50€ each. I saw this TVR Griffith on his table for 40€ and thought okay, this modelcar I want, but as I had only 80€ in my pocket, I wanted to check all the other tables first just to see what is the case here overall. After 5 minutes I decided that it is stupid, I want this car so I should buy it as it is on my wishlist for a long time. But by the time I went back to the gentleman's table, another man took the car and paid for it right in front of my eyes. I literally couldn't eat that day, I was thinking about this all day long and I was just devastated.
#2: TSM Lamborghini Countach
First thing on my first NAMAC toy fair, I saw this model for 70€. It is a fairly high price for me, but later I figured that most of the time these models have twice this price. On the next toy fair, this car was already gone.
#3: Matrix Bugatti 57 Aérolithe
I still have some hope that on the next toy fair that I will attend to, this car still waits for me. Although it is a Matrix model, the price was fairly decent (still high though). I wanted to buy it but I was a bit short on money, as I couldn't sell many things from my own table. Maybe next time, I'm still hoping for this to sit on the exact same table, waiting for my purchase.
#4: Minichamps Lamborghini LM002 & Neo Scale Puma GT
This one is on me. I won these two cars on an eBay auction, but I haven't paid them for 3 weeks, as I was still hoping to add some more items to the cart. One day I saw these cars were listed again, although it wasn't deleted from my cart. So I paid them and wrote the seller to end the listings as these cars were still on my cart, just haven't paid them yet, but now I did! After 3 days the seller refunded me and told me that he couldn't find the items in the warehouse. I still need to wait for the LM002 to add to the collection a little bit more.
#5: Minichamps Alfa Romeo Junior & AutoART Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV Veloce
This was also paid by me, but the package have never arrived. It was lost somewhere between the French-Belgian border, neither the french nor the belgian post office couldn't find after the transition. The seller refunded me but I think the items never returned to him either. Another big shame as I was waiting for these cars for a very long time.
#6: Neo Scale OSCA 1600 GT Zagato
This was hundred percent on me. I won an auction on eBay, also didn't pay for like a week as I was hoping to add some more item to the package, so I can spare some money on combine shipping. But after one week, even though I wrote a message to the seller that I just want to wait till I can add more items to the pack, my cart was just deleted without any response.
Hope you liked that list. What are your biggest regrets this year? Please let me know in the comments, and wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year fellas!
Thank you for reading! Cheers!
