GPMdiecast's 2023: Top 10 cars I purchased

Hello dear LaLDers! It is almost the end of the year again, so I will close the 2023 with three top 10 lists of my own. I want you to know: I handle these top 10 lists very loosely, so usually these lists contains more then 10 cars :D sorry about that, but I hope you won't mind.

This second list will contain (~)10 cars, which I bought this year. This list is mostly ordered, so instead of yesterday's, I will start from 10th and going to the 1st.

Let's start the list:

#10: Ebbro Nissan R380-II

This first contender of my list have fallen to my collection only two weeks ago, but man, it has to be here, mainly because of it's story. I found it on a desk of a seller at the latest local toy car market. The seller insisted that it is a Ford Lemans (?), made by the brand Brumm. Okay, I said, but I'm quite sure it is a Nissan R380-II, cause I had one in 1/64 - I said. No, I'm sure it is a Ford - he replied. But I am 100% sure it is a nissan - I insisted. I even showed him that one of the stickers on the car says Nissan. Then I said that I am suprised because I didn't know Brumm made any japanese car, it seems more like an Ebbro for me, like qualitywise. But he said it is Brumm, he is sure about it, look at other Brumms, they are quite great. I said all the other Brumms I saw was quite goofy, and poor on quality, but anyway, since there was no box or mark, I did not know what is this exactly. I made a bargain on it, he was selling it for 30$ but I managed to take for around 22$. Just as I arrived back home, I googled it just to see it IS an Ebbro, so I was quite happy that I bought it quite a good price compared to that.

#9: Schuco Porsche 911 '68R'

Although I am not a huge Porsche fan, this example of the classic 911 mesmerised me when I first saw it. Bought together with a 2.2 Safari, this Porsche was a classic little gem, a love at first sight. I paid quite a fortune for it, but I don't mind, this hot-roddesque look is exactly my taste. I can forgive the blunt, quite boring silver painting for it as well!

#8: AutoART BMW M3 E30 DTM

As I mentioned, I love a racecar model without any livery, with this you can gaze the racing car details even more, realising the fine tuning underneath which made the difference between a proper racecar and an absolute track weapon. The AutoART M3 DTM was no exeption, with a usual AutoART twist, which is here the opening hood and the well detailed engine bay. This car has a stance which I cannot found in any other E30 M3 yet in this scale.

#7: Best of Show Nash Rambler Palm Beach

Best of Show is one of my favourite 1/43 brand beside Neo Scale, and although I'm quite sure that it will go until I managed to buy a Matrix or Autocult one, I stick to this statement. I bought a lot of BoS models this year, it was hard to decide which car should I put on this list, because BoS made a lot of unique pieces about cars that no one knows about. I could've mention the Gordon-Keeble, the Bentley Métallon or the Chrysler SS, but I will show the Nash Rambler Palm Beach. This car looks ridiculous, like a little dumb ray, and when I saw it first I knew I want it. It is pure concours vibe, and a thing only a few see in real life.

#6: Minichamps 635 CSi & 2002 Turbo

Already, a double stack at position 6. Two of BMWs, which I managed to get simultaneously. Both the 2002 Turbo and the 635 are legendary. The exepction is, that I had the 2002 Turbo in 1/64, but the 635csi was almost impossible to get in 1/64. It is also quite hard to got hands on it in 1/43, because these BMWs are very freaking expensive! So expensive I can not really explain. But anyway, I had luck, and now I have these BMWs finally! Proper shark attack!

#5: Neo Scale Buick Norman E. Timbs Streamliner

The original story of this car is already extraordinary, and paired with this subnautic, aerodynamic body this is an absolute crown jewel! It is a museum piece, proper addition to my concours collection.

#4: Minichamps Bentley Embiricos & Duesenberg SJN

Two other additions from the late '30s. Great gatsby style cars, and I love these kind of concours pieces. The Embiricos is a greatly proportined, huge coupe with aerodynamic body shape, and these early adoptions of taming the air around the body always put a smile on my face. The Duesenberg on the other hand, is pure luxurous flamboyancy. Unfortunately this is a car I worked the most on, since it has a lot of small details which can broke of very easily, so there are a lot of second-hand glue marks on it right now.

#3: HPi Nissan Skyline GTR R32

One of the first modern 1/43 cars I bought, the R32 was something I couldn't really let there hanging. It was very, very, VERY expensive, still one of my most expensive cars I bought (the only more expensive pieces will come next), but this car even in this scale was worth having, the small details that this scale can give to me over 1/64 are astonishing.

#2: Spark Edsel Citation Coupe

I always wanted an Edsel in 1/64, and never managed to buy one. But I didn't even know that 1/43 has it even in these kind of vibrant colours. Spark made me suprised, but yet once again, they made a perfect modelcar. It even smells like columbian cigar! It is a strange bit of the american car industry, and now I have it in my garage! Lovely piece!

#1: Kyosho Ferraris (246 Dino, 365 GTB4, 512BB)

Oh god, of course, finally, my precious, the three musketeers, three cars I think the most beautiful things I managed to won on auctions! I bought them quite expensive, but then I tried to calm myself that each cost me a price of an 1/64 tomica limited vintage neo of the same model. 50$ each was quite a shock to my wallet, but these cars were so majestic, so magnifique, so beautiful and detailed! And finally I have a Dino, and a 365 GTB, the 512BB was just a little cherry on top! These well detailed, opening hood-bonnet cars were the greatest addition this year, and I'm glad that I can share this with you guys!

What did you add to your collection this year? What was the thing you most proud of? Let me know in the comments and have a happy rest of the year!

Thank you for reading! Cheers!

Oh man, the Timbs Streamliner was such a gorgeous car. I think the original car was lost in a California wildfire a few years ago 😢
