GPMdiecast's 2023: 10 cars I regret selling

Hello dear LaLDers! It is almost the end of the year again, so I will close the 2023 with three top 10 lists of my own. I want you to know: I handle these top 10 lists very loosely, so usually these lists contains more then 10 cars :D sorry about that, but I hope you won't mind.

This first list will contain (~)10 cars, which I sold this year, but a little bit of my soul also went with them. This list is unordered, so the first one is not the biggest pain, and the last one is not the least: selling them was almost equally hard, but they served a better purpose.

So lets start the list:

#1: Tomica Limited Dome Zero

The opening part Dome Zero is one of my biggest pain in the chest this year. I love this car, it is so surreal I almost couldn't let it go. "Working" suspension, light interior, wedge shape... this car, even with it's ridiculous ride height was one of my secret favourite. There's only the Carabo left...

#2: CM's Lancia Delta S4

Plain colour versions of a rally car always get me more than a well executed livery. For me, it is a beast without it's cloth. Just plain red, you can see the lines, the twirks a bit better than you do in a sponsorship-camouflage. And it is an italian, so a big plus on my side. I had to wait years to buy it, and now I sold it in less than a month. The squishing feeling around my chest gets a bit worse every time I look at this picture...

#3: LCD Pagani Zonda HF Barchetta

The LCD version of the HF Barchetta, for me, was a much better example than the MiniGT one. The carbon pattern was incredible, the interior was so nice I couldn't even describe. LCD is quite a small brand as I see, but the cars they bring to the table are almost always spot on! The differently coloured wheels on each side was a big plus too!

#4: 7-11 Taiwan Pagani Zonda Revolución

Oh, the 7-11 Taiwans! When I first saw these cars, with this kind of removable hood and a detailed motorbay, I couldn't even beleived it! They really can do something like this in 1/64 scale? For me it was so new, since I still collected premium HW at that time. This was one of the first eye openers in the real premium brand's absolute void, I think it was one of the last nails in my HW/MB collecting habit's coffin, and turned me to the premium brands once and for all. Could you blame me? Look at it!

#5: LaFesta Alfa Romeo Disco Volante

Enough Paganis! But still italian (hmm), one of my secretly loved Alfa is the surreal, ufonautic Disco Volante! I can imagine, what an absurdity it looked like when the first pair of eyes saw this thing. It was probably other-wordly, but for todays standards it is most likely compared to a subnautic creature. The curves are almost erotic, the whole thing is just seems like a big middle finger for the cars around this era.

#6: StanceHunters Lexus LFA

Finally, something non-italian! Instead of that, a screaming V10! Stancehunter's limited LF-A was a huge game changer for me, mainly because it is a resin modelcar, so no rolling, no nothing, just miniature details, lightweight chassis, and an awesome look. For the price of a Kyosho LF-A, which I hunted for years, but without result. Nowadays, other brands discovered the LF-A as well, but back then (1-2 years ago? :D) this was the second example after the first one quickly reached the unfindable status.

#7: JEC Ferrari 250 GTO

OOOps, another italian stallion, again. But this time, it is a prancing horse! One of my proudest gemstone, and it is gone! But for good. I loved the JEC 250 GTO, because it was greatly proportinoed (not like the Kyosho), crispy, had a great colour, and I managed to buy it on an auction so it wasn't cost every cloth I was wearing. Still was expensive, and it is nowadays. This car, this model was phenomenal from every angle, I couldn't really made a bad picture about it (that is not exactly true, but it was on me, not on the model).

#8: Kyosho Ford GT40

'nugh said. The GT40 was a great catch when I bought it, and a great regret when I sold. It is a beautiful, staggering piece, a historical phenomenon, a gold standard. Quite rare too, and one of the finest example in the 1/64 scale scene, although a lot of new brands recreate it and some of them seems quite good.

#9: Kyosho BMW 320. Gr.5

This racershark was a hit or miss for me, and I hit it! Plain white (as i said, love this more than any livery ever), like the big white shark! As frightening as that. It looked like a beast, and I was proud I had it.

#10: CM's Toyota Corolla WRC

This one was particularly great when I bought, and particularly painful when I sold, because I have an exact 3door '99 Corolla like this (naturally, not a wrc spec type, just a boring, silver 1.4 petrol). It was a piece for my pocket about my actual car, which made a lot of happy memory for me. A pair of unpleasant ones. This model was great, rare, and an absolute gem!

These were the Top 10 regrets these year! Hope you liked it, and tomorrow, a new list will arrive! Please let me know in the comments about your regrets this year!

Thank you for your dedication!

Cheers!

It was really hard for me... I always reminded myself that it is necessary to grow to an other direction.

Holy cow these are quite the specimens you got rid of! I audibly gasped a "damn" when I saw the Dome Zero lol.

My only regrets are simply my lack of participation in the hobby this year... I am already working to change that for next year :)
