I remember going to a place most likely called Good Earth Emporium with my parents as we headed to the 3rd floor where all the toys are located. My eyes caught sight of this toy with the wonderful looking phototgraph of a diorama with road, bridges, cars and other buildings. I convinced my parents to get me this See and Play Service Station by Marx. When I got home and opened it, I would say it was both an exciting and disappointing toy. I will explain this later. First the box is showing its age but still looks decent.
After I opened the box it shows the based for the service station but where are the other stuff. I thought to myself it's probably inside.
Well this is where I was disappointed as it only seems to contain the parts to be built the service station.
However it did include several different plastic cars. Each comes in 3 of the same model and color.
On the other side of the box are the walls to be used to build the service station.
No detail on the base of the car. Just a name to identify the car brand. The scale is close to 1/87 but just like the cars from the Matchbox brand it comes in a variety of size.
It includes a folded instruction manual.
It includes the parts of the main building which are mostly transparent.
It included a variety of accessories including a tiolet seat.
You put it up without needing any glue. (In theory)
I would say taking a picture of something transparent is very difficult.
This time I decided to add my own road and included some 1/87 buildings and model train cars from a variety of manufacturers.
This classic panel truck from Woodland Scenery is my favorite as it shows a man describing the problem on his truck while the merchanic looks at the engine.
