A big surprise was waiting for me when I opened my emails this morning! A newsletter from OttoMobile was waiting there for me with information all about their new assembly kits. Otto fans can get their mitts on five massive 1/12 scale cars with all the assembly required. Choose from a Mercedes Benz 190e or BMW E30 M3 DTM race cars, or a Renault Clio V6, quirky Citroen SM, or Peougeuout 205 GTi!

The kits come with everything you need to build your own OttO model. You'll be able to choose your own paint for the resin blank body, along with all the interior bits. Wheels, head and tail lights, and window glass all look to be there too along with all the decals you'll ever need.

Unfortunately, as with most good things, by the time you hear about it, you are already too late. The Peugeot, BMW, and Renault are already sold out. The Citroen will set you back 70 Euros and the Mercedes 80 Euros, plus whatever you need for paint and glue. Then add in more glue because you'll realize later that you left the cap off the first bottle of glue and it is now rock solid. Better get some resin-safe paint stripper too, because you know you'll mess up the paint job more than once... Come to think of it, I'm glad these are selling out before I get a chance to take out my credit card!

Would you try to build you own 1/12?
Yes! Pass me the glue!
No way, I don't do self-checkout at Target either
I'd try it, but when the right car comes along
I’ve been tempted many times to try building model kits. But then I realize I already have too many expensive hobbies to start another one.
I'd love for them to do this with their 18th scale stuff.
