A little history: When it was released, some versions of the Matchbox Volkswagen Delivery Van, Panel bus, whatever you call it, were just plain horrible! (Some were great, like the TNT MotoCross version, in light metallic blue.)
Back to the present: I'm trying to find a MBX Panel Van for a project I'm planning and, as usual, I'd rather find a flea market quality diecast and not cut up a nice example. I went through my loose cars and was surprised to find a couple of those "other" castings and looked only at the roofs...see what I mean here, look at the "drip rail" areas...
Pretty crappy, so I'm wondering why I would have held onto these after getting rid of all other panels with the wavy gravy rooflines, and then I noticed the tampos and remembered...
Both sides:
I guess I can preserve them a little longer, someone might need a filler piece while they search for a straight version they will never find...
Wait, did you put that there or did they?!
